What is Tixel® ?
Tixel® is an advanced technology treatment which uses a unique combination of heat and motion, delivering superior results with less discomfort than laser treatments.
How Does Tixel® Work?
The Tixel® handset tip is passed over the patients skin. When the trigger is depressed by the practitioner, for a matter of milliseconds, 400 degrees of heat is delivered to the skin through 81 tiny pyramid shaped points. The contact with the skin is so quick, the treatment is completely safe and doesn't hurt.
What is Tixel® Used For?
The process can simultaneously tighten skin, boost collagen, minimize scarring and sun damage, and deliver deep topical product penetration. There are multiple options for depth of treatment depending on your individual skin concern. What is the Downtime for Tixel® ?
Downtime for Tixel® treatment depends on the intensity of the treatment. For the lightest treatments, normal commitments can be resumed immediately. For higher intensity, there can be some swelling/redness and microcrusting for up to a week.
How Often Do you Need Tixel® ?
Depending on the depth of treatment used by your practitioner, they may recommend a course of treatments (between 3 and 6), spaced 4 - 6 weeks apart.
What's the Difference Between Ablative and Non-Ablative Tixel® Treatments?
Tixel treatments can be either Ablative or Non-Ablative. In non-ablative treatments, in the milliseconds in which the tip of the handpiece makes contact with the skin, it safely delivers thermal energy and creates tiny non-ablative coagulation sites, allowing for enhanced permeability for topical active ingredients which are applied after the procedure, e.g. retinol or a cocktail of super antioxidants such as Vitamin A, C and E. The downtime is minimal for this depth. An ablative treatment is a deeper treatment with higher energy settings and provides a true resurfacing action, thus producing more dramatic results on fine lines and wrinkles and acne scarring.

A Non-ablative Tixel® treatment is another great option for use on the skin on the backs of the hands. It safely delivers thermal energy and creates tiny non-ablative coagulation sites, allowing for enhanced permeability for topical active ingredients which are applied after the procedure (e.g. retinol or a cocktail of super antioxidants such as Vitamin A, C and E), with excellent results for anti ageing and uneven skin tone.
